Hughbanks named an OSU Outstanding Senior

April 11, 2021

Ridge Hughbanks, an agribusiness and pre-law double major from Alva, Oklahoma, has been selected as an Oklahoma State University 2020-2021 Outstanding Senior by the OSU Alumni Association.

The Outstanding Seniors award recognizes seniors who show excellence through academic achievement; campus and community involvement; academic, athletic or extracurricular honors or awards; scholarships and work ethic during their time at OSU.

While at OSU, Hughbanks served as a National FFA officer and Student Government Association attorney general. He was the SGA Senate Public Affairs committee chair, Ferguson College of Agriculture Student Council executive and senator, and FarmHouse Fraternity Executive Team member. His community involvement includes being a horse leader and feed team member for Turning Point Ranch, volunteering for Into the Streets and serving as an Oklahoma Blood Institute Gallon Donor. He is a public speaking facilitation coach and packs meals for the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Hughbanks served as a United States Agricultural Ambassador to Japan and Canada. He received his American FFA Degree and is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, an SGA Outstanding Committee Chair honoree and OSU Top Freshman Man.

"I will forever be grateful for my time, interactions, and experiences here in Stillwater," Hughbanks said. "Should I ever be offered the opportunity to change anything about my time while at Oklahoma State University, I would be hard-pressed in finding any way to have had a more wholesome, fulfilling, or educationally enlightening undergraduate expedition."

After graduation, Hughbanks will further his education and attend law school in the fall.

The OSU Alumni Association Student Awards Selection Committee met with the 52 Seniors of Significance selected in the fall of 2020, choosing 22 as this year's Outstanding Seniors.

A private, limited-capacity reception honoring the Outstanding Seniors will be held April 24, at 6 p.m., at the ConocoPhillips OSU Alumni Center in Stillwater.
