Former Alva resident dies in head-on collision

Former Alva resident James M. Keeney died Monday from injuries received in a head-on collision in Logan County. Keeney, 65, was living in Oklahoma City. The crash occurred at 7:19 a.m. on SH-74, approximately 115 feet north of SH-74F and about 10 miles south of Crescent.

Keeney was pronounced deceased on scene by paramedics with MEMS due to massive internal and external injuries and transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City.

Keeney was driving a 2019 Chevy Camaro northbound and Cheri L. Burns, 64, of Crescent, was traveling southbound in a 2016 Ford Explorer on SH-74. Accor...
