Enjoy spring inside and out during tonight's Art Walk

Tulips in watercolors give this painting by Carolyn Demaree a dreamlike effect. Demaree is one of the artists featured at Graceful Arts Gallery during the Frist Friday Art Walk.

Stepping into the Graceful Arts Gallery is like walking into a spring garden. May's "Sun, Fun and Friends" exhibit brings the colors of nature indoors. Tonight is the First Friday Art Walk in Alva from 6 to 8 p.m. It's a chance to admire the exhibit, meet the artists and enjoy some refreshments.

On the west wall is a collection of paintings by Sharon Sudduth (featured on the cover of this edition). From single flowers to gardens to a butterfly enjoying nectar, Sudduth's art preserves the beauty of gardens. The delicacy of flowers and leaves are portrayed in Carolyn Demaree's soft watercolors. Diane Goldschmidt prefers the abstract in oil and mixed media. Aimee Eischen adds a touch of humor with paintings of nature's creatures from the humble mouse to a majestic elephant.

Tonight's Art Walk at the Gallery will also feature a vendor's market including Liz Anderson with her Lady Daze jewelry and Lydia Bushman with LaLa Treats.

From the gallery, it's a short walk east to visit with Warren Little at An Old Man's Gallery featuring art and photos. Little has a story for each piece of art you admire. The Mystic Gypsy on the west side of the square will also be open late tonight.
