Three killed, two injured in head-on collision in Oklahoma

ASHER, Okla. (AP) — Three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision Friday in central Oklahoma, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

James Chadwick Cravens, 55, and two males who have not been identified died in the crash just after 6 a.m. on U.S. 177 near Asher, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) southeast of Oklahoma City.

A 16-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition and 54-year-old woman was hospitalized in stable condition with injuries suffered in the crash, according to the OHP. Both were passengers in Cravens' vehicle.

The crash occurred when a northbound vehicle carrying the two unknown males crossed the center line of the highway and crashed head-on into a southbound vehicle driven by Cravens, according to the report.

The report said Cravens' vehicle spun and came to rest in the roadway while the second vehicle rolled into a ditch and caught fire.
