Man charged in Leavenworth shooting death

LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (AP) — A Leavenworth man has been charged with first-degree murder in a fatal shooting in Leavenworth on May 4.
Cordell Marqueise Stewart, 21, was charged Monday in the death of 31-year-old Floyd Ross Jr., Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson said.
Officers found Ross lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds after receiving calls about shots being fired, police said.
Ross was taken to a hospital, where he was later declared dead....
