(Memorial Day address presented by the author in Barber County, Kansas)

We need to remember so history does not repeat itself. Understanding what veterans experienced is very difficult. Sharing compassion, respect and honor is our way of showing our appreciation for their service to our country.

Honoring those that lay to rest here and those that are laid to rest on foreign battle grounds is our duty. Let us not forget. Let us not say “I am too busy.” Let us not consider Memorial Day just a holiday. When you celebrate with family and friends, remember those that sacrificed to make it possible...
