The rise of a basketball legend

 


Continuing rainy days make ideal weather for staying indoors and reading. I tend to read mysteries for fun, but I like to mix it up. My daughter says she tries to read a book for fun alternating with a serious book. My ratio is probably more like four to one.

Although I’m not deeply interested in sports, one of the best books I’ve read lately involves basketball. I’ve enjoyed John Grisham’s lawyer and courtroom stories, but once in a while he tries a different genre. He’s written books about football (Bleachers, Playing for Pizza) and baseball (Calico Joe).
