Goltry med student has externship in Cherokee

 


Northwest Oklahoma native Shelby Cummins spent two weeks participating in a summer rural externship during which she shadowed Dr. Timothy Newton at Great Salt Plains Health Center in Cherokee, Oklahoma.

Cummins, a Goltry resident, will start her second year of medical school in August at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a member of the inaugural class at the Cherokee Nation campus in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
