Spate of fatal Kansas City shootings under investigation

 


KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Authorities have identified the victims of a string of Kansas City area shootings and are asking the public for help.

Police in Kansas City, Missouri, said the first of three deadly shootings in the city happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators said a shooter approached 52-year-old Jose Lugo and opened fire before leaving. Lugo was taken to a hospital but died a short time later.

About half an hour later, police responded to the scene of a double shooting. One of the victims, 31-year-old Lavance Jones, died later a hospital. Police described the injuries of the...
