A beautiful cedar pergola containing a variety of ferns and other plants that do not require much sun sits to the left of the house at 1305 Barnes St.

The Petunia Garden Club has selected the Yard of the Month for June. They chose the yard of Miles and Rita Peterson at 1305 Barnes St. Their choice was based on the variety of plants and colors that decorated the yard.

The home of Miles and Rita Peterson at 1305 Barnes St. was selected as the June Yard of the Month by the Petunia Garden Club.

Your eyes go instantly to the two large beautiful hanging baskets that include red dragonwing begonias and lime-green sweet potatoes. In front of the house are large elephant-ears, salvia, New Guinea impatiens, tuberous begonias and Mexican petunias.

One focal point is an apple tree that is trimmed to grow parallel to the house. In the circle bed in front of the house are impatiens, hosta, Mexican feather grass, cactus, lavendar and various decorations.

Two large pots filled with elephant-ears, colorful caladiums and sweet potatoes line the driveway. A pot containing a very large 15-year-old fox-tail fern is also in this area.

To the left of the house is a cedar pergola that contains a variety of ferns and other plants that require less sun.

Be sure to drive by this house in the fall, as Rita says "I really plant for a fall garden as that is when the flowers are the most colorful."
