Senior citizens ask Woods County commissioners to replace roof

 


The Woods County Senior Citizens’ Building in Alva needs a new roof. Monty Lohmann from the senior citizens’ board told the Woods County commissioners Monday that every time someone goes onto the roof, it just makes the problem worse.

The supports for the flat tar roof are wood, and those are being damaged by the water leaks. He brought some photos to show the extent of the problem. The commissioners agreed the building needs some structural repairs in addition to a new roof. The building is owned by Woods County.

During last winter’s ice storm, Lohmann said, the center had buckets everywhere...
