Shrum starts post as president of Oklahoma State University

 


STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — The first woman chosen as president of Oklahoma State University is officially on the job.

Dr. Kayse Shrum's first day in Stillwater was Thursday. Shrum had been president of the OSU Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa since 2013.

Enrollment at the medical school more than doubled during Shrum's tenure, The Tulsa World reported.

"I'm very excited, but this is extremely humbling," Shrum told the newspaper. "It's a big day at Oklahoma State University and at the Shrum household."
