Blunk completes anesthesiology residency

 

Logan Blunk, D.O., completed his anesthesiology residency on June 12, graduating from the University of Buffalo's Jacobs School of Medicine Anesthesiology residency program.

Dr. Blunk earned a Bachelor of Science degree in life-sciences and biology from Kansas State University, where he did extensive research in oncogenesis.

Dr. Blunk attended medical school at Lincoln Memorial University's DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, Tennessee. His medical training emphasized the importance of rural primary care, and Dr. Blunk had the opportunity to complete multiple rotations with his father, Jim Blunk D.O, at his rural family medicine practice in Caldwell, Kansas. He graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in May of 2017.

Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Blunk moved to Buffalo, New York, where he completed four years in post-graduate education in anesthesiology. His residency training included holistic and vigilant peri-operative care, human airway management, critical care medicine, as well as neuraxial, cardiothoracic, neurosurgical, pediatric, and obstetric anesthesiology. Dr. Blunk received commendations for his active involvement in quality improvement research at Buffalo General Hospital.

Dr. Blunk has accepted a position where he will be a practicing anesthesiologist at Catholic Health's Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York.

Dr. Blunk is the son of Dr. Jim and Cynthia, Blunk of Caldwell, Kansas. His grandparents are Rose Blunk and the late Dan Blunk of Alva, and the late Tommie and Berry Hutsler of Caldwell, Kansas. His aunt is Katie Blunk DVM of Freedom.
