Acts of kindness and funds collected for Kuhr's young family after death from motorcycle crash
July 14, 2021
Just 30 years old, Alex Kuhr of Kiowa, Kansas, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident the afternoon of July 4th. The accident, which was reported in the Newsgram last week, happened on blacktop County Road 580, which is just east of Burlington and about five miles north (and southeast of Kiowa).
Kuhr leaves behind his wife Ashley and two young children: son Jasper, age 6, and daughter Saye, age 5. Ashley works at the Hometown Market in Kiowa where there is a donation jar for the family. There is also a GoFundMe page on Ashley's FB page set up by friends.
Luke and Teresa MacKinney set up a “meal train” for the family. The meal train details can be found on their FB pages as well as on Kiowa Connection and People of Kiowa. Teresa said she's had several people sign up to provide meals and welcomes more to do so.
Memorials may also be made for the family through Lanman Funeral Home in Kiowa.
A graveside service is planned for Kuhr Saturday at 11 a.m., at the Riverview Cemetery just east of Kiowa. A procession to the cemetery starts at 10:30 a.m., at the Grace Bible Fellowship on the north end of Kiowa. Following the service there is a meal for family and friends at Grace Bible.
