Cherokee FFA hosts commercial cattle grading contest

On Friday, July 16, several FFA chapters, 4-H clubs and adults traveled to the Cherokee Salebarn to compete in the 1st Annual Cherokee Commercial Cattle Grading Contest. All contestants evaluated 15 animals following a cattle grading school presented by Cherokee FFA Advisor, Christy Snider and retired Perkins-Tryon FFA Advisor Roger Jennings. Upon conclusion of the contest, all attendees were fed a free lunch.

Awards were presented to the Top 10 individuals in each of the three divisions, FFA, 4-H and Adult/PeeWee. In addition to the awards, the top 4-H and FFA individuals received $100 cash s...
