BENNY RAY PERKS 'PaPa'

Benny Ray Perks was born in Alva, Oklahoma, to Theodore Perks and Iva Opal (Harding) on October 13, 1954, in Alva, Oklahoma.

Benny lived in Alva all of his childhood and during his teen years he was the paper boy for the Alva Review Courier.

Benny attended Alva High School where he graduated in 1972.

After graduation he attended the vo-tech here in Alva where he received multiple achievements and certificates.

On May 2, 1975, Benny Perks married the love of his life, Deanna (Mayes). To this marriage four children were born.

Benny was always spending time in the outdoors. He loved being on his pontoon boat, Jug lining and camping. He loved having cookouts and anytime there was a birthday or something to celebrate in the family he was having a cookout. Benny enjoyed grilling and he made the absolute BEST hamburgers/cheeseburgers you have ever had.

Benny's favorite place to be was anywhere with his family. Benny loved going to all of the grandkids activities and anything that they were involved with PaPa was there.

Benny was wise beyond his years and he gave the absolute best advice to anyone who needed it. He was always teaching and guiding his children. He helped his children build and remodel all of their homes, he taught his sons how to fix and work on any and everything! Benny has a concrete laying business that he owns with his sons called "Benny Perks & Sons." This business was passed down to Benny from his father. Benny used to work with his father laying concrete when he was a boy so work was instilled in Benny from a very young age.

Benny worked at multiple places including Ryder Trucking in Atchison, Kansas; International Tractor in Alva; Alva Concrete and Washburn Motor as a mechanic. Benny then worked for the City of Alva as a street and sanitation supervisor for 36 years. He retired in October of 2019 and was free to spend all of his time with his family.

Benny passed from this life in Alva on July 20, 2021, at the age of 66 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Opal Perks, and several aunts, uncles and cousins
