Covid cases rising as schools open

Currently the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) is offering weekly updates on active cases of Covid-19. They scaled back from daily reporting this summer. Unfortunately, the updated reports appear on Wednesday, after the Newsgram is printed.

Numbers are rising in Oklahoma, just as public schools and higher education classes begin. As of Aug. 4, only two counties (Beaver and Ellis) in the state were at the “green” level, the lowest risk level. Six counties were at “yellow”, the next higher level. The 59 remaining counties were all “orange,” the third level.
