Monday night at the South Barber USD255 August meeting an agenda item was added that surprised many. It was the resignation of longtime teacher, coach and AD Steve Roberts. In 2018, Roberts retired his 25-year girls basketball coaching career with a 400-175 record. He continued to teach math, coach track and volleyball. He's been at South Barber USD255 near 30 years. The board accepted his resignation.
The board held a quick special meeting Tuesday afternoon to discuss the board's direction with Roberts gone. The results were not yet available at press time.
