Active Covid cases up six in Woods County

Active cases of Covid-19 in Woods County have increased from 41 last week to 47 as of Aug. 11, according to the Oklahoma State Health Department (OSHD). The weekly report also shows an increase of nine in Woodward County, now at 29. Alfalfa County now has 15, up five from last week. Major County went up four to 19 current cases. Harper County decreased by two with only two active cases, and Grant County went down one for a total of 17 this week.

Statewide, the active cases of coronavirus increased by 32.5 percent from 15,540 last week to 20,593 this Wednesday. The death toll increased by 63 from last week.

Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Alva is still showing no positive cases. The number at James Crabtree Correctional in Helena also remains at zero.

Only one county in the state has a "green" risk level, the lowest possible. Seven are in the "yellow" range and the remaining 69 are orange. Harper and Woodward counties, which border Woods County on the west, are at the lower "yellow" risk level.
