WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Police are investigating a shooting death at a birthday party in south Wichita.

Police say Robertino Gomez, 25, of Wichita, was killed at the party Sunday evening.

A suspect, 42-year-old Marcello Ibarra, was arrested and is being held in the Sedgwick County jail.

Gomez was shot after he went to check on Ibarra, who had decided to leave the party, police said. He died at the scene.

Police are "still investigating the motive," Officer Trevor Macy said.
