Solomon is known as the wisest man who has ever lived. The book of Proverbs is about his wisdom. The first few chapters are about wisdom, knowledge and understanding. A person can have knowledge about specific things and still lack wisdom or understanding. A person can have knowledge and understanding and still lack wisdom. All three are to be sought after.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Solomon makes connections between wisdom and righteousness. He draws a contrast between the wise and the fool, the wise and the evil. Proverbs is full of couplets comparing good and evil,...
