Woods County Covid cases increase by two

The latest figures released by the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) show Woods County active Covid-19 cases have increased by two at 64. The data is released weekly on Wednesday. In surrounding counties, Alfalfa has 21, Harper four, Major 37 and Woodward County 36.

The new state map of Covid risk levels has 72 counties in orange with four in yellow and one in green. Harper County is yellow, but Woods County and other adjacent counties are at the orange level.

In Woods County, Alva has 57 active cases, up two from a week ago. Waynoka has five active cases, Freedom one and Dacoma none.

Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Alva and James Crabtree Correctional in Helena remain at a zero level.

The state as a whole now has 23,492 active cases, up 112 from last week. Acute care hospitals in the state have a three day average of 1476 patients with Covid-19 with 380 of those in ICU. In the northwest Region 1, the health department lists 48 patients with 11 in ICU.
