School investigating after Indigenous student says hair cut

CLINTON, Okla. (AP) — School officials in Clinton are investigating after a Native American fifth-grade student alleged that two other students held him down and cut his hair.

Superintendent Tyler Bridges told Oklahoma City television station KWTV the district is conducting a full investigation into the incident and is communicating with the boy's family.

The family of Dominique Lonebear, a member of the Cheyenne & Arapaho Tribes, says the assault happened Tuesday at Washington Elementary School in Clinton.
