The Woods County Fair is history

September 12, 2021

If you went to the fair, I hope you had a good time.

This is the first year I have not been in my booth since time began. I have felt bad for a couple of weeks, and to add insult to injury, I have developed a kidney stone. Sometimes it really hurts, and I didn't want to be at the fair when it did. Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I will see you next year. The really down side is I didn't get to the merchant's booths to get my Christmas gifts.

This next weekend is the car show. I do hope to feel better so I can attend.

A 54-year-old lady in Pennsylvania stole nearly $200,000 from a packaging company, causing them to go bankrupt. They had 25 employees, who now are hunting for jobs or the unemployment lines. What is incredible is that she only drew two years in prison and was ordered to pay the money back.

Two years? She ruined 25 lives. Ridiculous! She could have drawn more time than that for knocking off a liquor store. She also had a prior conviction for embezzlement and arrests for writing bad checks. It didn't say, but I bet the judge was a cousin of hers. If there is to be justice, to start restitution, everything she and her husband own should be sold. When they both are standing on a corner with nothing on but their underwear, I would be satisfied the courts were doing their jobs.

Bubba told me the other day he was disappointed. He couldn't believe changing the picture on a box of pancake mix hadn't resulted in world peace.

I feel very bad about the Marines that were killed during the withdrawal from Afghanistan. What I want to know is where is the major recognition for the 2,000 other soldiers that were killed over there in the last 20 years?

On a related note, when will the Today Show have the family members of the 13 Marines on their show just like they had G. Floyd's family?

What a screwed-up world we live in.

Let's all be safe out there and God bless.
