OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A third Oklahoman has pleaded guilty to a federal misdemeanor in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to federal court records.
Tanner Bryce Sells pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. to parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building, according to the documents.
Sells faces up to six months in prison when sentenced Jan. 12.
Prosecutors say in court documents that Sells entered the Capitol without permission and walked through the rotunda, staying in the building for fewer than 10 minutes.
Oklahomans Danielle Nicole Doyle and Andrew Craig Ericson previously pleaded guilty to the same charge in connection with Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol by supporters of then-President Donald Trump.
More than 600 people nationwide have been arrested in connection with the riot, clogging the U.S. District Court in Washington with cases.
About 80 cases have been resolved by guilty pleas — largely by those who were charged only with misdemeanor offenses. Scores of others face serious felony charges including conspiracy, assaulting officers and obstructing of an official proceeding that call for lengthy sentences behind bars.
