Pursuing a lifelong passion

Elizabeth (Liz) Miller of Enid enjoys painting florals like these vases of spring flowers, but she also does portraits like the young girl seen just behind her.

She doesn't know exactly when it began, maybe in kindergarten, but Elizabeth Miller always liked to draw and kept drawing. "I guess all through my life, even now, I pursue it," she said. "It's like a passion that you don't want to give up. You always want to improve on it."

Miller went to the University of Texas where she majored in fine art with a minor in art history. "I learned the most just by doing," she said.

She still enjoys attending workshops where she can be with other artists. "You also learn from the instructor by doing and being encouraged by one another," she added.
