South Barber's daycare director and assistant offer loving care

This is a view of the colorful, welcoming inside of South Barber's daycare. In back, assistant director Jennifer Birchenough helps pick up toys at the end of the day with a parent and children assisting.

"Kids are my passion, my world," Director of South Barber's new Daycare Terri Burke said. The daycare is in the school's new multi-purpose room/storm shelter paid for primarily with FEMA money.

The daycare opened when the school year started. Superintendent Dr. Mylo Miller confirmed they now have six children and are certified and licensed for 12 by the KDHE. South Barber USD 255 is also partnering with DCF child services to provide daycare for foster students. The daycare is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers a daily rate for community residents.
