Why is the supply chain so clogged?

Monday as we waited for the start time of the Woods County commissioners meeting, Commissioner Randy McMurphy pulled up a map of the U.S. with green dots representing supply ships waiting to be unloaded. There were incredible numbers of ships waiting in ports and further out. We experienced shortages last year due to Covid-19. Things have improved somewhat, but the supply chain continues to experience snags.
