Woods County Covid-19 cases drop by 10

Active cases of Covid-19 in Woods County have dropped by 10 to 34, according to the Wednesday, Oct. 6, update from the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). Last week's total was 44. The number of Covid deaths in Woods County increased by one to 22.

Dacoma and Freedom have no active cases listed on the latest report. Alva has 28, down nine from a week ago. Waynoka stayed the same at six. Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Alva is still reporting zero cases among inmates.

Northwestern Oklahoma State University showed an increase of two with 11 cases as of Friday, Oct. 1. The number includes nine students and two employees from all three campuses located at Alva, Enid and Woodward.

Oklahoma's number of active cases decreased to 12,988 on Wednesday, compared to 16,310 a week ago. The risk level map on Oct. 6 showed three counties in yellow (Grant, Harper and Cimarron) with the remaining 74 in orange.

In surrounding counties, Alfalfa County decreased by one to 11, Harper County is down 13 to seven, Major County increased by four to 30, and Woodward County dropped by 44 to 58.
