GEARY, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a man armed with a knife was fatally shot by a Geary police officer after lunging toward another officer.

The 46-year-old man was shot Thursday by a Geary officer on an Interstate 40 offramp about 50 miles (80 kilometers) west of Oklahoma City, the OSBI said.

One Geary officer had stopped to talk to the man after seeing him with a knife and two other Geary officers, one who was off-duty, also stopped, according to the OSBI.
