Canadians are reputed to be very polite. In the past, we had a Canadian employee, and she certainly lived up to that reputation. I never heard her raise her voice or get angry. We all enjoyed working with her and hated to see her go.

But can politeness be carried too far? After a recent experience, I wondered about that.

The Newsgram and the Alva Review-Courier are unusual in that they are actually printed in our town. The majority of smaller newspapers in the state “farm out” their printing to other places. Several area weeklies are printed at Mooreland. The Woodward News is printed in Enid....
