Cherokee man charged with threatening, obscene communications

A Cherokee man is accused of sending threatening and obscene communications by cellphone to two individuals.

Court records show on Oct. 7 Ivan “Rick” Cunningham of Cherokee told Alfalfa County Deputy TJ Rockenbach, Sheriff Rick Wallace and District Attorney’s Investigator Steve Tanio that he had received numerous threatening and harassing text messages and verbal messages from Jason Voth on Sept. 18 and 19. Cunningham said he had known Voth for several years and previously they had been in business together.
