A sleepy truck driver had a rude awakening Friday morning when his vehicle went off the road and rolled. Robert Ray Burdette, 59, of Woodward, was transported by Major County EMS to St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid and was then medi-flighted to St. John’s in Tulsa. He was admitted there in critical condition with head, arms, legs, trunk internal and trunk external injuries.

The wreck occurred at 6:05 a.m. Oct. 22 on US-412, approximately 12 miles west of Orienta in Major County.
