I had conversations last week with two different people about some fishy offers. One occurred to someone else, but the other affected me and the newspaper.

In the small towns of this area, people are used to sealing deals with no more than a handshake. “His word is his bond” statements abound. Admittedly, local attorneys may disagree with the process, but we generally operate with trust in our fellow man.
