Covid-19 cases decline in Woods County

Since last week the number of active cases of Covid-19 decreased by nine in Woods County, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). The report released Oct. 27 shows Woods County with 28 cases.

Alva cases dropped by seven to 23, Dacoma and Waynoka each have zero cases. Freedom's count went up two to three cases. Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Alva is still showing no Covid-19 cases.

On Friday, Oct. 22, Northwestern Oklahoma State University showed eight active cases including one employee and seven students. The cases are a total from all three campuses at Alva, Enid and Woodward.

In the area, Alfalfa County is listed with ten cases, down eight from last week. Harper County has four, down from seven last week. Major County increased by four to 42. Woodward County has 72 cases, down from the 95 listed last week.

The OSDH risk level map shows 58 counties in orange, 18 in yellow and one in green. The nearest yellow level county is Grant with four cases currently.
