Oklahoma Senate president pro tem announces new leadership

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Republican State Sen. Greg Treat on Wednesday announced changes in GOP leadership positions in the Oklahoma Senate.

Sen. Greg McCortney was named majority floor leader, replacing Sen. Kim David, who is term-limited and has announced plans to run for the state Corporation Commission.

David was the first female majority floor leader in state history after earlier becoming the first woman to chair the Senate Appropriations Committee.

"Kim did a great job as majority floor leader, and this change allows her to focus on other pursuits," Treat said.
