Special speakers visit the school library

Kylene Whiteman, a substance abuse counselor from the Lighthouse in Woodward, Oklahoma, shares with the Freedom middle school and high school students about the consequences of drinking and driving.

The Freedom School library was the place to be twice in the last couple weeks. On two different occasions the library was the venue for inspirational speakers.

On Oct. 22 Brandon Baumgarten had the students up and working together. Teamwork was a theme and also the word "affect." Affect is a verb – "to affect" – meaning to influence or have an impact on something. He really wanted the students 7-12 to remember that their actions affect somebody in some way all the time.
