Jerry Robert Blevins was born on November 10, 1940, in Amorita, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Hugh Blevins and Vinita A (Holden) Blevins. Vinita died when Jerry was 18 months old. Robert married Opal Winans when Jerry was 4 years old. Opal was the only mother Jerry knew.

Jerry passed from this life on November 28, 2021, at the age of 81 years in Kiowa, Kansas. Jerry was raised in Amorita and graduated from Attica High School in 1958.
