Washburn family donates $500,000 for new pool

The Hatfield Aquatic Center project received a gigantic boost Friday, Dec. 3, when the Washburn family presented a half million dollar donation to the fund. Kirk and Drue Washburn, who recently moved to Edmond, returned to Alva to present the $500,000. Kirk and Drue Washburn, Sarah and Liam Washburn, and Kami Washburn Hanan provided the donation in memory of Cory Washburn.

Thank you, Washburn family! Even though I no longer live in Alva, I will always think of it as home. I spent so much time at the pool while growing up. I am so happy future generations will enjoy it also. What a beautiful tribute to Cory!
