JV Ladybugs lose to Pioneer in Shootout consolation

The JV Ladybugs managed to gain the lead only once against the Pioneer Lady Mustangs Saturday afternoon. The teams were playing for the consolation trophy in the Alva-NWOSU Shootout finals on the Northwestern campus. The Alva team managed to lead twice early in the first quarter, but Pioneer steadily widened their lead, winning 43-26.
Pioneer led 15-10 at the end of the first quarter and 25-16 at the half. The Lady Mustangs out-scored Alva nine to four in the third for a 34-20 lead. The JV Ladybugs managed six points in the final period while Pioneer put in nine to win 43-26.
