Cows and bulls are targeted by cattle thieves in Barber County, Kansas

Watch for pickups with stock trailers and drivers with unfamiliar faces

Starting in October 2021, ranchers in Barber County, Kansas, and beyond started noticing cows were missing from their fields with a cow/calf operation. The theft of primarily black Angus cows, bulls and a few calves was still ongoing in December.

This is according to Sergeant Sarah Boor with the Barber County Sheriff's Department. She said that on Jan. 5, Barber and Comanche counties sheriff's department met with Paul Pinegar, livestock investigator with the Kansas Attorney General.

As of Monday, Sgt. Boor said so far less than 100 cattle were stolen.

The thieves have taken mainly black Angus...
