It's too cold for swimming

With cold temperatures and possible snow in the forecast, there may not be much interest in swimming pools right now. However, long range plans are in motion in two Woods County cities to replace their closed WPA-era pools.
Both Alva and Waynoka had swimming pools built by the WPA during the 1930s. Both were closed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health after inspections revealed several health concerns. Both cities are working on plans to replace those historic pools, but they are approaching the financing in different ways.
