Freezing for a Reason raises funds for Special Olympics

This year the Special Olympics of Oklahoma Polar Plunge team is coming to Alva. Bill Johnson Correctional Center officer Patrick Harris is collecting donations from around the Alva community to reach this year’s goal of $5,000. The polar plunge is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 5, at a local pool. Registration is at 10:30 a.m. at BJCC with the plunge set for 11 a.m.
There will be a costume contest, prizes and music. Those participating can win prizes while they raise funds for Special Olympics.
