Oklahoma board denies parole to convicted former officer

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board has denied the parole request of a former Oklahoma City police officer convicted of 18 counts of rape and sexual assault.

The board on Monday rejected the appeal of Daniel Holtzclaw, 35, who is serving a 263-year prison sentence and maintains his innocence.

"He's doing good, he obviously prepares himself for the worst, but he hasn't lost hope," Jenny Holtzclaw, Daniel Holtzclaw's sister, told The Associated Press on Tuesday.
