Alva's Farmers Market plans organizational meeting for 2022 season

February 11, 2022

All gardeners interested in marketing their produce at the Alva’s Farmer's Market are invited to attend an organizational meeting on Monday, March 7, at 5:30 p.m. in the conference room at the Northwest Technology Center at 1801 11th Street in Alva. The meeting will begin with a review of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture guidelines for operating a Farmer's Market. Vendors with homemade products and other crafts are also welcome to attend. We hope all interested gardening enthusiasts will join us!

Area growers are all welcome to participate in the Farmer’s Market held in the summertime at the Woods County Courthouse. Historically, growers from a wide area have brought produce to the Alva location. Traditionally, the Farmer's Market was open each Saturday morning during the summer.

Alva consumers really enjoy buying locally grown products but a lack of availability has limited their buying opportunities. Poor growing conditions limited vegetable production and social distancing issues hampered marketing efforts last year, but we are hoping for better product availability this summer.
