Rodeos, concerts and cars highlight tourism meeting

The Alva Tourism Tax Committee will hear funding requests from several groups when they meet Wednesday, Feb. 16. The meeting is at 5:30 p.m. in the city council chambers at City Hall.
After dealing with minutes of previous meetings and the financial report, the committee members will hear a request for funding for the Salt Fork June Jam, an event that began last year. The June Jam is requesting $3,500 in tourism tax funding.
The Northwest Oklahoma Junior Rodeo Association will talk to the committee about two rodeos to be held in June and July. They are asking for $6,000 per event.
