The Alva Ladybugs notched another playoff win Friday in the area playoffs. After defeating Purcell Thursday night, the Ladybugs faced Community Christian in an afternoon game at the Enid High School athletic center. Community Christian beat Lindsay 44-30 on Thursday to advance.

First-year coach Kris Gore kept the Ladybugs at a controlled pace throughout the game, and it paid off as the Alva girls won 44-29. The win sent them to the area finals to play the loser of Friday’s Perry vs Luther game and a chance to be one of the two teams heading to state quarterfinals from Class 3A Area 1.
