Wichita woman pleads guilty to running over, shooting man

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — A Wichita woman who was scheduled to go on trial Monday in the death of a man who she ran over and then shot has pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Charity Blackmon, 32, was originally charged with first-degree murder in the death of 54-year-old Merrill Rabus. The Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office said she pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree intentional murder and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
