Monday's heavy rain was much welcomed by the Alfalfa County commissioners, but it wasn't quite a reason enough to lift the burn ban.

Last week, Mike Roach, Jay Hague, and Marvin Woodall voted to enact a seven-day burn ban due to powerful winds and dry conditions. Erring on the side of caution, the three men chose to do the same for the next week. (If conditions improve, officials can remove the ban earlier.)
