The Gospel of Luke, chapter five, tells us of Simon Peter’s powerful encounter with Jesus. Simon had been out on the boat all night with nothing to show for it but a sore back and empty nets. And now those nets needed to be cleaned and mended so they would be ready for the next day’s work. So there was the fisherman, standing on the edge of the lake, cleaning up from the night before, getting ready for the night ahead. And right in the middle of Simon’s everyday work, Jesus spoke to him.
